Images are created by successive processes of cutting, inking up, and printing, whereby colors are applied from lightest to darkest. By the end, most of the block has been cut away, leaving only the portion that printed last, which is usually the darkest color. I like it so much I'm ordering the 2019. The paper is a good quality paper, plenty of space to write. It includes some odd holidays, for me, that adds to the charm. The colors of the 2018 are bold but still maintain a fresh and modern look. I like the quotes.
